Nevertheless, in modern society which economic condition recovers and the standards of life rises, arts exhibition has become an important part of people daily life. Art is no longer unreachable, which can not only satisfy the spiritual demands of people, but also can gradually provide material supplies to people. Every single person can appreciate art, taste art and even create art or own a piece of art. Thus, the most direct and vital way to reveal art is art exhibition. In order to enhance the economic benefits and spiritual pleasure of arts, people in China give great publicity to art exhibition, which were called the “western import” by Chinese. It seems that China has entered into an era of a great leap forward of art exhibition, which has a prosperous scene. But, the meaning of exhibition seems ethereal because these ephemeral art exhibitions can only impress people in the term of sensory experience, instead of enabling people truly remember these works. However, the appearance of “Documenta” resolves this problem properly. Through Documenta exhibitions, people can gradually understand the whole process of exhibition planning in depth, as well as the most essential issue, what concepts do these exhibitions want to express via these works of art. Art museums are a space to restore history what Documenta exhibitions are a statement to the process of history. The success of Documenta exhibitions do not entirely owe to those fine arts, but also depends on the perfect combination of exhibition space with those works of art. This paper will enlighten people the differences between Documenta exhibition and current emerging exhibitions by analyzing the whole process how the Documenta exhibition happened and developed. In addition, this paper will also explore what extraordinary influences the constitution model of Documenta exhibition space will exert upon arts, exhibition planners, the exhibition itself and even audiences and what all-round effects it will bring in terms of vision, audition and perception.
