Qu Yuan has created the literary tradition of Chinese romanticism, and he also has pushed the Chinese romantic literature into the first peak times, which is unsurpassed by descendants. What’s more, he is the first true poet in the history of our country. Since then, poetic creation has become personal. However, the ownership of these poems has always been a controversial issue, such as the copyright of "Zhaohun" is still inconclusive. Even so, no man could shake Qu Yuan’s place in descendants’ mind. His poetry that is full of imagination shows us a bizarre image world. Besides, various plants and animals in his poetry are filled with humanization. What’s more interesting is that the use of poetic images has become systematic after him. His images are not as independent as the Book of Poetry’s. Instead, each image interweaves with each other to a huge and sparkling net, just like human society associates. Besides, this net has been lived our heart, and let ourselves be addicted to it. Water is not only the source of human life, but also one of the most important images in Qu Yuan’s poetry. Qu Yuan was born and raised in Chu, which is a rainy and washy place. The water in his childhood hometown has a far-reaching effect on Qu Yuan, and this water image run through his poetry. In addition to being able to see the river, stream, sea and so on, in this full of god and people world, there are a lot of plants and animals which are closely related to water. And they constitute the beautiful water world together. In the water world which is created by Qu Yuan, water has multiple attributes of beauty, such as pure, soft, hazy, dark, flow and dead ones. The beauty not only increases the charm of Qu Yuan’s poetry, and also provides us a good entrance to explore and study the secrets about Qu Yuan’s poetry.Qu Yuan’s poetry has a profound effect on the later generations. The description of water is like a river which influences many writers and poets, especially the southern writers in China. In this aspect, Li Bai and Shen Congwen are the direct beneficiaries of this river.
