A Study On The Usage Of Personal Pronouns In Modern Chinese

Generally speaking,the regular expression of the first person deixis is "wo" "wo men" "zan" "zan men",the second person deixis is "ni" "ning" "ni men",the third person deixis is "ta" "ta men".But there is subjectivity of language using,it reflects humans subjective initiative to understand the world and use the language in the process of generating and understanding language meanings.In fact,the use of language is flexible,in some special cases.person deixis will break regular usages and have flexible usages to obtain better communications.The flexible usages are mainly change of person and change of number,it can be explained by empathy theory.The usage of shorten the distance between two sides to produce the same felling, we call it the empathic use of the person deixis.The present studies use Adaption theory to study it.Based on these studies,the thesis will expand the theoretical field,and try to use the R-A theory to study the empathic use of the person deixis to reveal the mechanism of language formation and understanding.About corpus,we chose them from classic works of literature,datas from TV and internet,oral communication and so on, which contain all kinds of empathic use of the person deixis.At the same time,we think the reason why communicator use the person, deixis flexible is produce the best relation and adapt natural world,social world and mental world.The thesis includes five chapters:Introduction.It includes the objective and purpose of the research,the general idea and the means applied,and a brief survey of the research done by the before scholars.Then the thesis followed by theory introduction of Revelance theory and Adaption theory,and the R-A theory based on them.With the aid of the empathic use of the person deixis,based on the R-A theory,The second chapter analysis the quality,characteristic and meaning.we think the empathic use of the person deixis is a positive communication strategy taked by ravers,especially the addressor.To be specific,by means of transpositonal consideration to natural world,social world and mental world of the listener,The addressor form certain contextual suppose,and form Revelance-adaptation to get the best related adaptation.Finally,It show the best way of utterance,that is to say,utterance generation.According to the specific examples,the third chapter analyse the principle that hierarchy principle,politeness principle and the emotional principle of the empathic usage of the person deixis, then reveal the difference between all kinds of empathic usage of the person deixis.The conclusion summarize the thesis and points out the shortcomings:the enumeration and interpretation about empathic usage of the person deixis is inaccurate,and the corpus is not detailed enough.
