The opera, The Canal Ballad is a large-scale original national opera work composed by Yin Qing and directed by Liao Xianghong. It is logical to arrange "water", "boat" and "bridge" in opera as the primary element expression of stage setting through these different arias. At the same time, they also reveal the features of simple settings, flowing story line and sincere emotions, so that the scene of poetry arises. These also accord with the traditional aesthetic habits of Chinese audience on the whole, and lay the foundation of creating the various idyllic scenes of the whole opera.Love You Afterlife is such an aria and a masterpiece as well. In order to reveal its atmosphere, the composer fully explores the declarative and narrative function of the chant, laying a solid foundation for the incoming of climax in opera works through the intense expressive force and dramatic expression. This segment of aria raises high requirement on singer’s pronunciation, articulation, expression of feelings and the characterization and image-building of figures in the drama. This part is at the climax of the whole opera, and the scale of singing is very large, also the singing of arioso is required in the drama performance, therefore, it is a great test on the singer’s physical power, perseverance and expressive force.
