On Chinese Contemporary Landscape Painting

The economic development, western painting and modern people’s spiritual needs have transformed the Chinese traditional landscape painting sketch into contemporary sketch to the view in the 21st century, which is obvious in the traditional Chinese painting creation and has become the trend with a strong era characteristics. The contemporary landscape painting sketch emphasizes the authenticity of objective image, the accurate description of objects of the light and shade, form structure, three dimensional space under the natural light. It directly emphasises on the sketch, pursues the deep and accurate image, pays attention to the expression of real feeling, and puts the objective nature first. The sketch to the view has been a new choice for landscape painters in the 20th century, also is a necessary learning path to the research of landscape painting. This paper is divided into three chapters.In the first chapter, the development and features of Chinese contemporary landscape painting sketch is presented in the total four sections. In the first section, the origin and historical background of contemporary landscape painting sketch are combed from the perspectives of three different time periods; in the second section, the contemporary landscape painting sketch path is discussed from four development stages:the prototypes, the development, the formation and the promotion of of the sketch to the view; in the third section, how to realize the sketch to the view for painters at different stages of painting is discussed based on that sketch to the view is the characteristic of contemporary landscape painting sketch; in the fourth section, that the sketch to the view is the inheritance and development of traditional landscape painting will be proved through the comparison between contemporary and traditional way of landscape painting sketch observation.In the second chapter, the purpose of the contemporary Chinese landscape painting will be shown. The first purpose of the sketch is to dialogue with nature; the main purpose of the sketch is to recognize nature; the direct purpose is to deeply refine the artistic language. A conclusion is drawn:the sketch is not an end, but the service for the creation of a work.In the third chapter, the significance of contemporary Chinese landscape painting is discussed from three perspectives:the sketch is a key way for the creation; the reform of the 20th century of landscape painting is based on the sketch; contemporary landscape painting sketch is necessary. It is concluded that the sketch is always pushing us constantly to find and exploit new things, leaving us to break through oneself and create a valuable landscape painting.Through three chapter the conclusion of this paper is made:the characteristics of contemporary landscape painting sketch is sketch to the view, which is the inheritance and development of traditional landscape painting. Sketch to the view can make a sketch artist deeply and comprehensively understand the objective nature, can make that the contemporary landscape painting art has a unique characteristics of national culture, as well as with strong characteristics of times. With sketch to the view, we could break through oneself and create a valuable landscape painting.
