Gu Kuang has a very charming personality and has significant effects to the parnassus, who is the important poet for the transitional period of the prosperous Tang to the middle Tang Dynasty. So far,The academic study of Gu Kuang has mostly focused on his life exeperience and the different versions of his anthology and realistic poetry.However, studies on the eccentric aesthetic characteristics of his poems are not detailed enough,a clear and systematical demonstration has not been described yet.From the perspective of the historical origin,QuYuan’s poems and Taoism culture both have some influences on Gu Kuang’s poems.The poems of Gu Kuang were lighted with fantasic idea of Qu Yuan’s poem.Besides,Taoism culture also has impacts on his quaint words and unusual way of thinking.At the point of the subjectmatter of his poem,recurring self-lable and anti-traditional self-theme and the thought of spirit world taking control of objectivity are the representation of Gu Kuang’s self-awareness. Benefitede from his intense subjectivity and innovative poetry theme,Gu Kuang’s poems were very distinctive form others at the DaLi and ZhenYuan period of Tang Dynasty.In the aspect of artistic exepression, his poems have untrammelled imagination and novelistic style.Gu Kuang’s eccentric aesthetic characteristics are well sustained by the imagery of the ugly thing and ghastful hell and earthliness fable,and also supported by his quaint words and the unusual way of using the daily words.For the effects of Gu Kuang’s poems, this eccentric Aesthetic characteristics not only provide the basis of aesthetic taste and the words for HanYu and Meng Jiao Poetic School, but also can be regarded as the turning point of the poetry transformation in middle Tang Dynasty.
