It has been confirmed by numerous studies that representations in visual working memory can guide our attention. When the stimulation in the visual field are consistent with the representations in visual working memory, the stimulus will be given priority attention and processing resources, this phenomenon is called attention capture. The research of attention capture focused on the capture occurred around whether automated or can be controlled by the individual. In addition, previous research accessed same stimulation to verify that implement same stimulation of representations in working memory is able to capture attention. Meanwhile, it is not possible to prove similar objects are capable of capturing attention. According to searching relative literature and choose the color as the stimulus material, designed an experimental task to automatically capture the attention and explore various color stimulation impact on capturing attention.The purpose of this research is to investigate similar stimulation capturing attention. The study includes two experiments. First one is to choose four color stimulation, using two factors, Task type × Memory to design an experiment in a within subject design, verifying whether color stimulation could automatically and effetely capture attention. Otherwise, initially assign color as one of the independent variable in capturing attention, explore the different color stimulation in order to estimate the effect of capturing attention. The second experiment is to choose similar color in four colors which belongs to experiment 1 as the stimulating color, implementing three factors, Type of task × Color department × Offset dimension have been tested in In a within subject design, to explore whether similar stimulation could capture attention and estimate the level of similarity of attention capture which have been accessed by similar color. Results of research: 1.The color simulation majority or completely possess same color working memorable object characterization can be captured attention. 2. Different colors have different level of effectiveness to capture attention. Red being strongest, than yellow, green is weakest, blue is unable to capture attention. 3.There are different range of similarity for similar color in different color department to capture attention. The similarity of red and green achieve color range ± 30 °. The similarity of yellow reach color range ± 15 °. The similar color in of blue is unable to capture attention.
