| Visual working memory(visual working memory, vwm)is a memory systerm for temporary store and process of visual information.Attention is a cognitive processing machine which used to select the information that is matched by the current task, filtering the irrelevant information,so as to increase the efficiency of cognitive processing. For a long time, the mechanism of singelton attention capture has been received continuous attention, and researchers have long debated whether salient stimulus can capture visual attention involuntarily. However,There are fewer researches on the impact of singelton-predictability on attention capture. There are different internal mechanisms between the predictable singelton and the random singelton. In random singelton conditions, different stimulus presentations have different effects on attention capture. How does the predictability of singelton and the mode of stimulus presentation influence attention capture? It is the question to be discussed in this study. Two experiments were designed using the addtional singelton paradigm. In Experiment 1,we manipulated the predictability of singelton to explore the effects of different stimulus presentation on the attention capture in predictable singelton condition and in random singelton condition. In Experiment 2,we explored whether top-down cognitive control or the homogeneity of stimulus environment caused attention capture of the predictable singelton conditions. The results showed that there was no significant attention capture difference between the mixed stimulus presentation and the fixed stimulus presentation under the condition of random singelton condition. In the predictable singelton condition, the fixed stimulus presentation attention capture was noticed greater than the mixed stimulus presentation. In no cue condition, results showed that there was no significant attention capture difference between the mixed stimulus presentation and the fixed stimulus presentation under the predictable singelton condition. While in cue condition, the fixed stimulus presentation attention capture was noticed greater than the mixed stimulus presentation under the predictable singelton condition. The conclusions of this study are as follows: The attentional capture of visual working memory in the fixed stimulus presentation condition was greater than that of the mixed stimulus presentation condition when the singelton was predictable and the cue was present. It is may be the top-down cognitive control rather than the homogeneity of the stimulus environment that leads to attentional capture. |
