The thesis described the “Tiao Chang” Festival in Stone Village based on the author’s filedwork investigation, which is the greatest and solemnest festival in the Miao village surrounded by different culture in Wudang, Guiyang City. Through the demonstration of ceremony of “Tiao Chang”, it shows the correlation between national and local, especially on the basis of the “state-in-society”. In this respect, the survival of folk festivals is being to discussed in the present. In my research, ceremony process of “Tiao Chang” Festival as the breakthrough, presents the authority of the Miao King and the worship about the important position and significance of bamboo, which sets up the traditional authority and shows the crucial role to maintain and coordinate local society. However, the ceremony of “Tiao Chang” has been affected by the national inevitably. It is in a field formationed by multiple authority symbols through the “state-in-society”. Its outstanding performance is the sharp national directivity of the stage performance: based on the revival of traditional culture or the reality of local economic interests and so on. It is that “Tiao Chang” ceremony is in a social structure formationed by many elements, which becomes the gathering place via all kinds of power. Under the dual role of the traditional and national authority, “Tiao Chang” not retains the original folk tradition and social order, but contacts to the nation actively in order to inheritance and develop its culture to build the order between minority folk society and national. In other words, folk festival ceremony and national have achieved “conspiracy” to some extent.
