The Book of Songs, China’s first poetry collection, gives a reflection for the people’s customs and life styles in the early Qin dynasty. There are fifteen poems which are called “Guo Feng” in this poetry collection. These poems are showing us the different styles and characteristics in different parts of China according to the geographical boundaries in ancient China. This paper gives a study for the “San Wei”、Qi and Qin’s regional cultures. Furthermore, it explores the regional culture’s influences to the contents and styles in poetry. For the regional culture in early Qin dynasty was becoming more and more mature. In this paper, in the time of The Book of Songs, Zhou dynasty was the land lord because of its most advanced institutions and cultures at the time. Wei、Qi、Qin, being vassal states at that time, were much been influenced by Zhou’s culture. Therefore, Wei、Qi、Qin, these three vassal states share not only their own local culture but also Zhou’s culture.There are four chapters in this paper. The first chapter studied the regional culture and the poetry contents and features influenced by its regional culture in “San Wei”. In traditional Chinese history, the place of Wei once was the capital city of Yin dynasty. That’s why these poems in San Wei smell a great taste of Yin’s regional culture when we read them.The second chapter studied the Qi’s regional culture and its poetry. Jiang Taigong, the first king of Qi, made his state developed and prosperity for a series of wise institutions in policy. Qi’s regional culture which is consisted in different kinds of regional cultures has its own characteristics and styles.The third chapter explored the regional culture in Qin and its poetry. Early in the history of Qin, Qin’ people fought with other minorities in order to the tribe’s survival and development of the Qin. Compared with other state’s regional cultures, Qin’s regional culture has also a strong spirit of brave warrior. In their poems, embodies the styles and characteristics of vulgar、straight and thick.For the last chapter is a summary to the front contents. There is also a comparative study for these three regional cultures and its poems under it. Furthermore, the research significance and the value of this paper have been carried in a simple way.
