The Language And Spiritual Communication In The Time Of Traditional Realistic Painting

Realistic painting is always one of the most important forms in the western painting history. By facing further rise of realistic painting, as well as being aware of the current background and environment that both art and academic circles continuously study and analyze it. This article tries to interpret this proposition through the western traditional realistic painting. The author conducts a study and comparison by selecting part of artists and their typical works from the western traditional realistic painting field, in order to understand the viewpoints and spiritual expressions within the western traditional realistic painting. Specifically, based on the analysis of artworks of the western traditional realistic painting, the article emphasizes on analyzing its style, theme, language and spirit of the time, etc. to provide certain references and enlightenments for the development of contemporary oil painting.
