This topic researches the Jerusalem’s changes and its significance, which is based on the time boundary of the old testament era. The task will prove the change of Jerusalem city influences the evolution of utopian literature through its transform from secular city to paradise city. It is with reference to the modern city construction and culture blossom.The topic contrasts and demonstrates both the developments and characteristics of the secular Jerusalem city and the paradise one, summarizes the changes of Jerusalem and proves that it has the influence to utopian literature.The secular city Jerusalem was divided into the first temple phase and the second temple phase, and there’s brief’s nonspecific property in the characteristics, also including abreact of desire and persecution to dissident. The paradise city was divided into the phase of The King David and the phase of casting off the reign from Babylon. Its characteristics shows on the extreme luxury of the city, restraint of human desires,undivided faith and the sympathy for the weak and dissident. We draw Eliot literature as an illustration to prove the development of Jerusalem has effect on the utopian literature.
