There are a lot of studies about the measure words. But they are mainly in the studies of professional measure words rather than the studies of the container quantifiers. This paper first summarizes the results of predecessors to container quantifiers Secondly selecting representative container quantifiers for development of comb intends to get container quantifiers over the law of development and evolution characteristics; And then the writer uses the theory of cognitive linguistics to interpret the usage of container quantifiers, whose purpose is to explain the usage of the container quantifiers from the perspective of synchronic. Finally the paper will analyzes the container quantifiers, individual quantifiers, collective quantifiers and measure quantifiers mainly in order to highlight the unique characteristics of container quantifiers.This article is divided into four parts. Introduction aspect mainly summarizes the research achievements of predecessors to container quantifiers.
