A Study On The Event Metaphor In Besieged City

Metaphor in Fortress Besieged has always been the focus of attention of scholars. In the traditional Chinese Linguistics Research, Study of metaphors in Fortress Besieged, however, is mainly based on traditional rhetoric perspective of the metaphors according to Mr. Chen specializing in simile, code words, megametaphor etc. And people have only focused on the things of the metaphor while ignored the event metaphor for a long time.This thesis studies the metaphor in Fortress Besieged from the perspective of the event metaphor, and concludes its logical structure and logical classification. This thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, the main body is from the second chapter to the fourth chapter, and the fifth chapter is the summary. The concrete contents are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, which mainly consists of three parts. First is to explain the reasons for selecting this topic and research significance; The second is a summary of the research status; The third explain the relevant subject of this paper and the description of research object.In the second chapter, the identification and classification of the event metaphor are carried out. This chapter carries on the appraisal to the event metaphor from four aspects. On the classification of the event metaphor, the author analyzes the structure of the event metaphor and the type of the event metaphor.The third chapter is the structural type of the event metaphor in Fortress besieged. First of all, this chapter makes a statistics on the number of metaphors in Fortress Besieged; Then this chapter analyzes the Fortress Besieged in the simple analogy of the event and the structure of the compound metaphor; Finally, the special structure of the event metaphor in Fortress Besieged is analyzed.The fourth chapter depicts the event of metaphor used in Fortress Besieged, including event metaphors and Fortress Besieged characters,event metaphors and the besieged city plot organization, events of metaphor and the besieged city theme presentation and description of three parts.The fifth chapter is a summary, which further clarifies the point of view, and explains the problems and shortcomings of the paper.
