Vocabulary is pretty important for language learning. It is said that vocabulary is the brick of building a language so from that we can see the vocabulary of a language learner can determine the language level of his or her. That is the reason and the final goal for the writer to do this research---to find a effective way to help and promote the second language learner to learn Chinese, especial Chinese vocabulary.Metaphor is an concept of great importance, which can help demonstrate the development and change process of vocabulary. In the field of language teaching of China, we realized and put attention on taking metaphor into English-teaching not Chinese, and we also just pointed out that the awareness of metaphor and capability of metaphor can promote students’language capability, instead of how to use metaphor and how to design the teaching according to metaphor theory specifically. With the development of brain science, researchers find that visualization can improve the performance of cognition and bring them to a new level of learning and help them to resolve more complex problems. While the research about visualized teaching in China is focusing on medical, physical and some other visual subjects instead of language teaching. Therefore I think that will be worth to take visualization into the vocabulary teaching under the concept of metaphor. According to this, I analyzed and summarized developments of metaphor and visualization as well as the metaphor characters of Chinese vocabulary. Taking these as theory background, I come to get the conclusion that it is reasonable to visualize vocabulary teaching under the concept of metaphor. Then I take space metaphor as example, using before\after, up\down and left\right to design how to show and demonstrate their metaphor meaning in a visualized way. What’s more, the writer also point out the limitations and short comings of this research for that helping others as well as myself to put up more questions and resolutions about it, contribute to perfect the hypothesis and design and make it useful to teaching Chinese as a second language.
