History Of The Green "German Dictionary"

Dictionary is the summary of language, is the reflection of history and culture. This thesis is based on the background, when Brother Grimm’s German Dictionary was edited, interprets and summarizes the history of Brother Grimm’s German Dictionary. This thesis analyses the compilation principles, reference sources and the direction of compiling idea about German Dictionary. Through the analysis of historical facts this thesis analyzes the influence of social economy, politics and culture on the compilation of dictionaries.
