The language teaching in vocational colleges attracts more and more attentions of scholars as a linking of talent demanding of social language. It becomes a key topic for teachers in vocational colleges to consider how to upgrade the language teaching results,so that the students can be in high skills and quality and they can communicate fluently by using English and Chinese. But in the past for a long time, the teacher centered teaching mode has greatly suppressed the students to learn the language actively, and it is also not good for students’ divergent thinking. With the further development of the curriculum reform, the task-based-teaching-method has great significance for the study of language teaching in vocational colleges.This thesis is to study the language teaching in vocational colleges from the perspective of task based teaching method. The thesis will explain the task-based-teaching-method comprehensively, and its application in the language teaching of higher vocational colleges. Through the experiment, the thesis also proved the feasibility and importance of task- based-teaching-method in the teaching of higher vocational colleges. The thesis show the how the task-based-teaching-method works in language teaching in vocational colleges and how to create the corresponding teaching mode and teaching strategy accordingly. The research of this thesis will provide a new angle of view for the language teaching in vocational colleges, and provide a real experience for language teaching reformation in vocational colleges.
