From the social environment and the development of art in Modern China, Modern China is facing big open reform era of glory, art can neither fully conservative nor completely westernized. Wu Guanzhong old gentleman tried western modern painting in the form of structure with the combination of traditional Chinese painting artistic lasting appeal, form the unique new means of artistic creation.This article attempts from the formation and development of Wu Guanzhong painting art, modern art language exploration and three basic principles of performancefrom three aspects, summarizes the narrative Wu Guanzhong remarkable artistic achievement and he make such a huge contribution in the history of art. Which mainly discusses the modern significance of its artistic achievement. The intention is to make our rational at the Wu Guanzhong’s art achievement, understand the reference to the western art should not be mastered the skills, the most important thing is to change the essence of western art practice to the Chinese painting, avoid blind imitation, limited efforts to make a breakthrough, to avoid the creation of the "imitation" and attaches importance to "create" method.
