Yuan is a period of mature development of literati painting. Bamboo spectrum codification culture flourished during this period, because of the accumulation of previous experience testimonies, changes in the social environment etc. In addition, Bamboo is a common theme of literati painting second to the landscape painting. One of the most representative bamboo spectrum, "Bamboo Spectra Recorded In Detail", written by painter Li Kan of Yuan Dynasty not only set the culmination of the previous generation of the previous generation of similar works, but also combined the texts and drawings for the first time, becoming a model for bamboo spectrum. The same period, "Huazhu spectrum" written by Ko Chiu-sze and "bamboo spectrum" written by Wu Chen draw from Li’s spectrum in varying degrees in the program, style and other aspects. In creation of bamboo, Li, Ke, Wu as part of a long line of paintings of Huzhou bamboo school continued the way of Wen Tong in painting bamboo and had their own creations, and their paintings and poetries also reflected the yearning of their spirit realm. An analysis of the phenomenon of writing books and creating spectrums in Yuan scholars was conducted to investigate their complex psychological factors and spiritual demands, highlighting Li Kan’s excellent artistic achievements in painting bamboo and creating spectrums.
