In creating my graduation work “spring”, I adopted Mo-gu method, which is different from delineating and coloring method I normally used in my painting. I was inspired by the fresh and lively greenness and got a feeling for this ancient painting method when I was walking in tropical rain forest. My paper starts with the research of Mo-gu method in Chinese art history, summarizing the traits and attractions specific to this technique. The deep research can also help put the method’s application into my graduation work. Although I have encountered many obstacles, my setting foot in this painting method is a courageous adventure and at the same time a breakthrough out of my normal painting state. In spite of occasional disappointments and shortcomings along the way, I believe I will continue to improve myself in creating more infectious artwork as a painter.
