On The Artistic Features Of Duan Jianwei 's Oil Paintings

Duan Jianwei is one of the painters who choose native art painting as his creative theme in contemporary Chinese painting, he is wild about exploring the connection between farmers and land, natural and tenacity of people’s spirit. He is not only to reflect the real reaction, but also to elevate the entire oil painting creation to the humanistic concern.This thesis has four chapters:firstly, the introduction of Duan Jianwei and the classification of his oil painting, to provide the basis of summarizing Duan Jianwei’s oil painting characteristics. The second chapter, from three aspects to analyze Duan Jianwei’s oil painting characteristics. The first part:the common features of the characters-"unadorned and childish"; The second part:the basic oil painting techniques, this part is carried out from four aspects: personal characteristics of composition, background space processing, brushwork, color relations;The third part:conveying the spirit of oil painting, mainly from three aspects:narrative and plot, the use of props and the setting of scene, mysterious and pure artistic conception. The third chapter, analyze the causes of the formation of oil painting characteristics, from two aspects: the influence of the survival state of the Central Plains Region, the impact of Henan’s history, customs and folk culture. The fourth chapter, in compared with the same kind of painter Duan Zhengqu, to analyze and summarize the value of his oil painting and its enlightenment, to provide more for our future reference.This thesis focus on the use of image research, combined with the background of the times, though the study of the artistic characteristics,and then reveal the relationship between painter and his living environment, growth years, summarize the value of him and his enlightenment,in order to improve the study and research of Duan Jianwei’s oil painting.
