Research On Duan Zhengqu’s Oil Painting Language

Duan Zhengqu is one of the important painters who choose native art painting as hiscreative theme in contemporary Chinese painting. The reason he chooses the native oilpainting is not only to reflect the real reaction, but also to elevate the entire oil paintingcreation to the humanistic concern. He focuses on exploring the relationship betweenpeople and the land. His oil paintings fully render plain, natural and tenacious spirit fromhuman beings and primeval momentum from the nature.This paper researches on Duan Zhengqu’s oil painting language and humanistic spiritand artistic temperament performing in his oil paintings. Duan Zhengqu’s oil painting artlies in an important coordinate point of expressionist painting and Chinese local painting.Article analyzes the expressionism and nativism, as well as the unique color, shape andcomposition reflecting in Duan Zhengqu’s paintings. Meanwhile, this paper systematicallyanalyzes the relation between Duan Zhengqu’s oil painting themes and expression forms,and respectively analyzes the subjects of the feelings of central plains folk songs, centralplains people, natural landscapes and still life. In combination with the background of thetime, this paper, through studying Duan Zhengqu’s painting language, further reveal therelationship between the artist and the living environment and the growth of the times, andthe impact and the enlightenment of Duan Zhengqu’s paintings, in order to further improveperfecting learning and research of Duan’s oil paintings.
