There is spatial awareness in the works of A Lai’s country writing. Spatial writing plays an important role in the narration of his novels. From the view of spatial criticism, we can restore from multi-angle the unique social connotation of Jiarong Tibetan countryside in A Lai’s novels, which have displayed the true feature of the countryside of Tibetan nationality stepping from an old age into the new one.Meanwhile, spatial criticism will reflect the theme, characteristics, and the meaning of A Lai’s spatial narration to literature history.Introduction gives a definition of what is spatial narration, which highlights the close connection between space and literature. Spatial narration is the space shift of narration. This article also pointed out that the research of spatial narration is based on the "keen sense of space" of A Lai’s novels and regional characteristics. It shows the value of this paper to the research of minority nationalities’ literature and the space theory development.The second chapter illustrates the social connotations of the local space in A Lai’ novels, with the earth, the square and the pub serving as three point-cuts. The earth space has displayed the mode of production, geopolitical relations, and status of social members in Jiarong Tibetan region. The space of square manifested the authority position of ethical values in the ethical order of countryside society. The pub space pointed at the connotation of consumption economy which embodies the modernization of traditional agriculture. These three spaces all have shown the process from close and tradition to open and modernization of Jiarong village in A Lai’s writing.The third chapter discusses the space narrative techniques of A Lai and the features of country writing. Temporalization of space has revealed the village history of Tibetan nationality in Jiarong; this course of history illuminated social reality,embodying the feature of historical narrative in A Lai’s works. Space powering has revealed the social power structure in Jiarong local society, embodying the feature of power narrative. Space aestheticization, on the premise of juxtaposition of time andspace, and transformation of narrative identity, has revealed the extent and depth of local space, embodying the feature of native local narrative.In the fourth chapter, this paper admits the literature significance of A Lai’s local spatial narration. Firstly, original spatial narrative facilitate cultural inheritance and innovation, which has essential meaning to the uniqueness of “literature Tibetan”in the circle of Chinese culture. Secondly, heterotopia spatial narrative has shown the double pointed stand of A Lai in cultural criticism and reflection, which is a unique critical stand in contemporary “Tibetan literature”. Lastly, living space narrative has revealed the destroy of modernity to natural and spiritual ecology, of which the eco-philosophy value is instructive to the research of frontier literature.The rest part of this paper emphasizes the infiltration of space theory to the literature of minority nationalities. From the angle of literary production, this part has extended a new spatial study direction of A Lai’s novels, which is about that the country writing of A Lai is a spatial production with his own emotional experience and values, reflecting the creation standpoint of a Tibetan frontier writer.
