With the rapid improvement of people’s material conditions, the spiritual and civilization construction has become a more and more tougher challenge in nowadays, and the subjective well-being is considered to be a significant and effective measurement index for the above situation. Especially in Yunnan Province, the improvement of subjective well-being could contributes to the nationality-unity and stabilize the nationality regions, and it’s also a strong guarantee for construct the harmonious socialist society and bring about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. It is sole culture phenomenon around the world that the three main branches of Buddhism have been co-existed in Yunnan Province. After checking and organizing some relative literature materials, it is reasonable for author to suppose that the religious coping style and the religiousness should have an influence on people’s subjective well-being, but the current researches of religions and subjective well-being are mainly focus on Christianity and Islam, and there are a few researches on Buddhism, especially for the religious coping of Buddhists, and it even doesn’t have a relative and targeted measurement.According to the above situation, this study mainly discusses the following two aspects:(1)Formulating the religious coping scale for Buddhists. The scale should conform to the psychometric standards, and capable to measuring the religious coping of Buddhists.(2)Using the scale to examine the current situation of the religious coping of Buddhists in Yunnan Province, and combine the other two variables, the religiousness and subjective well-being, to discusses their three relationship. Through testing religious coping style, author is not only expects to find a new point and method to analyze subjective well-being in systematic ways, but also wants to provide some theoretical references and guidance for further researches.First research, formulating the religious coping scale for Buddhists. Through selecting 280 Buddhists as the preliminary test objects, author determined the structure and items for religious coping; and then, selected 300 Buddhists to examine the validity and reliability of the scale. Second research is about empirical study. In this part, author issuing 743 questionnaires, and through the results, author analyzed systematically the overall condition of religious coping style, religiosity and subjective well-being in Yunnan Province, and also analyzed each variable ’ s differences in demography variables, and the three variables’ relationship. The results are showed in following :(1)The religious coping scale for Buddhists consists of three dimensions, which are behavior coping, social support coping and cognitive coping. The scale concludes 18 test projects, and it satisfies a higher item discrimination, internal consistency reliability and good constructive validity.(2)The results showed that the level of religious coping of Buddhists belong to medium and medium above. In addition, the demography variables, such as gender, age groups, education levels, the types of believers and Buddhist branches, do have significant influence on one or even more dimensions of the religious coping.(3)The results showed that the level of religiosity of Buddhists belong to medium and medium above. In addition, the education level, the types of believers and branches, do have significant influence on one or even more dimensions of the religiosity.(4)The results showed that the level of subjective well-being of Buddhists belong to medium and medium above. In addition, the demography variables, such as gender, age groups, education levels, the types of believers and branches, do have significant influence on one or even more dimensions of their subjective well-being.(5)The results showed that subjective well-being have a lot to do with religious coping and religiosity of Buddhists. Religiosity can positively predict Religious coping and subjective well-being. So does the religious coping to subjective well-being.(6)The results show that the religiosity of Buddhists not only has prominent and direct influence on subjective well-being, but also influences it indirectly. In addition, religious coping also stands as the mediator between religiosity and subjective well-being.
