A Correlation Study About Young Christians' Religiosity,Social Support And Subjective Well-being

Adolescence is a crucial period for the formation of individual' world view,outlook on life and values.Adolescents'development of religiosity will exert an extremely important influence on individual's cognition,emotion and social development.On the basis of revising the religiosity scale for young Christian,this study analysed the group characteristics of young Christians' religiosity and exmined the relationship among religiosity,social support and subjective-well-being.This study aims to enrich the research of this field in China and get better understanding and give more attention to the young chiristians so that they can get healthy and positive development.Stratified random sampling was used in this study,146 and 295 youth Christians from three churches of Wuhan City were asked respectively to take part in the forecast and formal investigation.The revised Christian religiosity scale,social support scale and subjective well-being scale was used as the measuring tool.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The revised Christian religiosity scale for Chinese youth has good reliability and validity,which is up to scientific standard of psychological measurement.(2)The religiosity of Chinese youth Christians is a little bit above the average level.With respect to gender,the difference between the extrinsic and intrinsic religiosity is significant.With respect to age,the difference between the score of I-E scale and the total score of religiosity scale is significant.(3)With respect to social support and subjective-well-being,the difference between the score of intrinsic religiosity and extrinsic religiosity was significant.Different dimensions of religiosity and subjective-well-being were related significantly and positively,so were different dimensions of religiosity and the most dimensions of social support.The three dimensions of social support and subjective well-being were significantly correlated.(4)Social support can't afford the intermediary role.
