Research And Exploration Of Contemporary Drama Lighting Design

Currently, Chinese contemporary opera is in a period of developing diversely. There are some repertoires already being loved by audience coming from different age groups. Those repertoires have jumped out of the traditional restriction that there is normally a table and two chairs on stage. All kinds of stage sceneries have been added. Some plays even add multimedia to enrich stage effects. So the higher quality of stage lighting design is required. Making full use of modern science and stage technology to meet the viewing and sounding needs of the audience are necessary. That analyzing stage lighting design features of those plays will help us have a clearer understanding of the needs and trends of the contemporary opera for stage lighting design. So that we can design more outstanding repertoires to meet the growing cultural needs of the audience.Also it is conducive for China’s own opera cultural to heritage and spread.In this paper, the development status of various types of contemporary Chinese opera repertoire is the main part. Considering various elements of stage lighting and aesthetic pursuit of Chinese opera as the basic point to analyze the status of contemporary opera repertoire. Focusing on artistic features of stage lighting design for contemporary opera repertoire. I will use what I obtained from practical experience and perception point to discuss the practice and exploration of stage lighting design for Chinese contemporary opera, I hope this article has some practical value.
