Since the late1990s, with the rise of the Social Democrats Party in the European political arena again, Giddens ’Third Way’ welfare ideology is increasingly attracted wide attention. Giddens ’Third Way’ ability to effectively reform the welfare ideology of the welfare state, with traditional social democracy and neo-conservatism any different this idea, it’s the future where they lead, these are to be studied problems. Through the study of these questions can help to understand the evolution of the welfare state in Europe, the European left and the right understanding of the development trend of political thought, grasp the latest development of capitalism in Europe, while providing some inspiration to China’s socialist welfare.This article is based on the Giddens’s understanding of the welfare state main line, respectively Giddens ’Third Way’ welfare ideology "come from, what, where to go," the question to start discussion and Marxist political Economics angle analysis. In this paper, the method of literature analysis, to sort out the original ideology for Giddens, narrative proposal.In this paper, the history unfold in a logical sequence, is divided into five chapters. The first chapter describes the contents of the article, current research, research significance and research methods. The second chapter to the emergence and development of the welfare state historical background to start, select the UK as a typical representative of the welfare state, describes the influence of traditional leftist and rightist political ideology of the welfare state, leads to Giddens ’Third Way’ welfare ideology origin. Third chapter, were selected class, the welfare system, the market and the government to detail the contents of the four dimensions of Giddens ’Third Way’ welfare ideology and traditional leftist and rightist political thought for comparison. The fourth chapter to the discussion of the welfare state is based, describes as Giddens’ third way "thinking future welfare model" Social Investment State."The fifth chapter, discuss Giddens ’Third Way’ ideology on the meaning of the welfare state welfare reform, and analysis of the revelation of certain welfare state reforms.
