After the cold war, the position and role of the south China sea in the UnitedStates’ asia-pacific strategy is rising, the United States not only attach importance toits geopolitical strategy values, international shipping value and economic value, moreto it as a sluggish development of China, to maintain their dominant strategy in theAsia Pacific region.In2009,President Obama came to power, he announced"strategicrebalancing" as America’s strategic focus from the "war on terror" to Asia, the purposeis due to the rise of China’s.In this background, the more positive the United States inthe south China sea policy, waded into the south China sea sovereignty dispute, notonly partial sound cable countries including the Philippines, Vietnam, and the solutionof the defined rules for the south China sea issue, the legal status of a direct challengeto China in the south China sea, and encourage outside power to support thePhilippines, Vietnam, it is clear that the United States has walk from behind thescenes to the front, to become a party to the game of the south China sea.As theworld’s only superpower, the United States "strong intervention" brought greatinfluence on the south China sea issue, is not conducive to regional peace and stabilityand the construction of new China and the United States the relations between bigpowers, and properly resolve the south China sea issue to China brought greatdifficulties, even affected the strategy of "Marine silk road" in the21st century.Face infact has been formed in the south China sea of China and the United States, the twocountries need to strengthen communication, build confidence, actively explore newways to jointly maintain peace and stability in the south China sea.
