Testify the IRED algorithm that have indeed improved delay,jitter,throughput and drop probability by optimizing RED algorithm and simulating IRED algorithm.Make better use of the network resources which now is poor.Simulation based on the NS-2 which now is very popular.Firstly,optimize RED algorithm,then find two efficient methods:one is to optimize maxp ,the other is to enlarge the period between the two nearest drops.Secondly,write essential scripts in order to simulating and analyzing,carry out scripts on NS-2 then get data files,analyze data files using the prepared scripts then get results,draw the results by Xgraph and gnuplot software.Finally,analyze the results and then get final simulation results.the past researches mainly focus on optimizing RED algorithm simplily then simulating to get results,however,the characters of the text are not only optimize RED algorithm in two different ways but also simulatied and compared IRED algorithm to RED algorithm in three ways.The final simulation results show:compared to RED algorithm,IRED algorithm has little higher delay and jitter,but much higher actual throughput,efficient throughput and much lower drop probability,so IRED algorithm is much more suitable to transport large files than RED algorithm in different and complex network conditions.
