The development of computer technology and pattern recognition technology, has greatly promoted the biometric recognition technology in the safety testing on the application. Embedded system is gradually applied to more extensive areas, as the center of practical application, meeting the application system for functions, safety, cost, size, power consumption etc. Embedded electronic productions and the people lives more and more closely.First of all, introduced the development of access control systems design and implementation of knowledge used including ARM access control systems, biometrics, face recognition system uses a variety of techniques. The normalization by image processing, histogram and median filtering of image preprocessing, improved the quality of the image. And we discussed several facial feature extraction methods, and a KL transform, wavelet transform, Haar features and LBP feature extraction methods.Secondly, designed the face recognition access control system and designed the test area of face and feature extraction module modules to lay the foundation for subsequent Coding.Finally, a detailed description of the face recognition algorithm used in this article (C++) of the implementation process mainly from the image acquisition and preprocessing, face detection and face recognition so orientation of the three parts. Select the face of static background collection, normalization processing, feature point location detection, On this face recognition algorithm using the symmetric Fisherface training and implementation are described.The face recognition system based on ARM will provide users with convenient and to improve home security.
