Proxy Mobile IPv6 is a network-based mobility management protocol based on Mobile IPv6, which is standardized by the IETF recently. It is being seen as the protocol for achieving a common mobile core network, accommodating various access technologies such as WiMAX and 3GPP radio networks. At the same time, an increasing number of hosts are operating in multiple-interface environment, where different network interfaces are providing unequal levels of service or connectivity. Mobile node can use various types of network interfaces to obtain durable and wide area network connectivity, and also better services. However, the multi-homing support for Proxy Mobile IPv6 is not well studied. To solve this problem, this paper studied the multiple access technology based on Proxy Mobile IPv6.We first summarizes the state-of-the-art of mobile Internet and multi-homing technologies, and then describes Proxy Mobile IPv6 protocol, wireless access technologies. The paper illustrates the multihoming issues in PMIPv6 in detail in this part.We design and implement a method to use multiple wireless access technology (such as WiFi, CDMA2000, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA) to access to PMIPv6 domain. A mobile node with these multiple radio interfaces can move between access technologies, but still retaining the same address configuration on its attached interface.In-depth understanding of the basis of multi-interface technology, we proposes a multi-access method based on virtual interface to access PMIPv6 domian. We first describe the principle of virtual interface technology in detail, then analyze the virtual interface in PMIPv6 application scenarios, and finally elaborate the implementation of the virtual interface. The performance of the proposed scheme is tested and evaluated in our test-bed. And the experimental results show that the scheme can support the mobile node to use multiple interfaces to communicate in PMIPv6 domain, and realize the inter-technology handover among multiple interfaces.
