| Recently, video surveillance gets a great development opportunity in China. There is a grow-ing demand for video surveillance in many industries, such as high-speed rail, etc. Embedded video surveillance technology brings the current most popular technology embedded technology,internet technology and video coding technology into video surveillance, which greatly promotes the development of video surveillance system on future technology trends, such as digital,network-based,low carbon economy,cost-effective, etc. The video encoding is especially im-portant to the embedded video surveillance system. On the one hand, due to the limited processing power of MPU (Micro Processor Unit), it is difficult for embedded system to sustain the computa-tional complexity cost of high-performance video encoding. On the other hand, bandwidth limita-tions continuously demand high efficiency video encoding to the video data which is transmitted in the network.Based on T264, an open source H.264 codec, the paper implements a multi-function video surveillance system. It makes a deep analysis and test on the video compression portion of T264. It also provides a series of optimizations special on the system. H.264 is the newest international video coding standard which was formulated by Joint Video Team (JVT) consisting of experts from ITU-T's Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and ISO/IEC's Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). H.264 has excellent compression performance and good image quality.The thesis includes:1,The hardware of embedded system Monitor-Terminal is implemented in the paper, and the system software platform is also built up, including BootLoader design,Linux kernel porting,and root file system construction. 2,The coding standard and codec are chosen in the paper. The relationship between encoding options & performance of T264 is deeply analyzed and tested. Therefore, the paper provides a T264 video compression scheme oriented for embedded surveillance system and makes a se-ries of further optimizations based on the current most popular MPU ARM3,A variety of related techniques are discussed in detail, including Video4Linux real-time video capture technology,T264 video data network transmission technology,moving target detec-tion technology based on Background Subtraction GPRS SMS(Short Message Service) technology. And all of them are implemented on the embedded platform.4,The design of Client Receiving Module is based on the DirectShow Filter Graph Model. Finally, the whole solutions on embedded video surveillance system is tested and validated. |
