| The power supply network is not designed for communication; signal attenuation is very large and changes with frequency, line load and fading change fast, while the noise environment is also very poor. So it is not ideal transmission medium. Thus, modem techniques must be utilized in order to achieve reliable data signals transmission in the power network. For the PLC access network physical layer, there is no ready-made standard or specification. PLC equipment manufacturers have developed their own dedicated PLC access network physical layer devices, whereas they cannot compatible at all.Accordingly, this paper aims at the physical layer chip research and development on OFDM modem module specifications, study and discussion of the soft-core design. By study and analysis channel transmission characteristics, attenuation and noise characteristics of low-voltage power line networks in China, based on in-depth study of the basic principles of broadband over power line(BPL) and low-voltage power line communication channel characteristics, a BPL baseband processing system is designed; then based on the completion of the overall BPL baseband processor parameter design, separate module of the processor is written in hardware description language. In this process, it focuses on settlement and optimization of the inherent shortcomings of OFDM system as well as hardware implementation. In the design process, focusing on digital design methodology for the research and the accumulation of efforts to find a simple and efficient implementation of programs; through flexible use of soft-core (IP Core) method to accelerate progress, improve design quality. Finally, the dynamic language Python-based design methods are discussed, for further optimization of the designed soft-core and development of reusability. |
