UAVs in aerial, while shooting video, should simultaneously record specificinformation such as flight status.It's important to keep each frame synchronizing withthe informatio. So we disign a video compression based on DM355 system to solve thisproblem.After conparing three coding standards, JPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264,We propose avideo special compression scheme according to design goals. This scheme is based onthe JPEG coding standard. It can ensure the synchronization and also meet therequirements of the compression ratio and image quality.We choose the Laopard Board based on TMS320DM355 for our project,TMS320DM355 is a digital media processor of Davinci-Based Products, and it containsan ARM926EJ-S core and a MPEG-4 and JPEG co-processor(MJCP). the DM355combines high performance MPEG4 HD (720p) codecs and JPEG codecs up to 50Mpixels per second. After learning the Davinci technology, we build the developmentenvironment on Ubuntu, and install the Montavista Linux on the Leopard Board. At lastwe use this board to to implement the video comperssion system, and some programsare writen to test the system.
