In the future of web development, the integration of heterogeneous networks is an inevitable trend. Multi-network fusion technology can give users with differentiation of service, simplified network management, reduce the network cost and facilitate the network resources sharing. Mobile Ad hoc network is flexible and low cost, with a fully independent operation mode. Integration of Ad hoc network with existing networks or the next generation of heterogeneous networks will be able to provide users with more flexible and convenient services, and the key technologies becomes the current research hotspot. The problems of integration of mobile ad hoc network and Internet are analyzed in this paper. A NAT-based integration scheme of mobile ad hoc network and Internet is implemented in Linux operating system, and an experimental platform of integration of mobile ad hoc and Internet is built. Mobile node multiple hops access Internet network is realized in the experimental platform. Then some performance analyses of the integrated network are done based on the platform, mainly about the influence of network environment on the bandwidth of access path. Finally, a method of gateway selection based on bandwidth demand and load balancing of gateways is presented. In this method, the minimum load gateway of those can satisfy bandwidth demand will be selected by mobile node to access the Internet. Theoretical analyses and simulation results demonstrate that the algorithm presented performances well.
