Since the implementation of "three station, four network" project by meteorology departments of our country, ground automatic weather station observation system were gradually established in China, and became the main methods of undertaking the task of surface meteorological observation, the data observed by which has become data source of weather forecast system and scientific research personnel, thus the quality of it has attracted more attention. The quality control of non-real-time data has been studied by many researchers in China, while there is limited achievement on the quality control of real-time data. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the quality control of real-time data of Automatic Weather Station (AWS) to improve data utilization value.Firstly, we analyzed the quality control methods of meteorology data and the characteristics of AWS real-time data, application status, and service requirement. According to the characteristics of AWS real-time data, we design the quality control steps of AWS real-time data, and use multi-meteorology data quality control methods to control the quality of AWS real-time data, then try to incorporate file format examination and sensor state monitoring into the quality control. Based on the study of system function, we design the function module and the storage structure of AWS real-time data under the quality control. The various quality control reference data was stored in the metadata database, and we designed the maintenance interface of metadata. We developed the real-time data quality control system of Shaanxi AWS by using C# object-oriented language, and realized the quality control of AWS real-time data. We test the system in detail by using common software testing methods to ensure its availability and robustness.We fulfill the quality control of AWS real-time data by the system, the data through quality control are saved into database in order to long-term preservation. Automatic quality control by using computer technology can meet demand of real-data used by real-time meteorological business, and further control through human-computer cooperation later can reduce the false-alarm-rate.We accomplish the quality control of air temperatures, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, relative humidity, surface temperature, precipitation, used by the real-time meteorological business and common scientific research, and establish the real-time database with the quality control elements, which can provide real-time data with quality assurance for meteorological business. In future, we will carry on research in 1h and 3h variation rate to accurately realize the consistency checking of temporal elements.
