The Status And Function Of Museum In Public Service

With the development of society and the progress of epoch, p has been considered to be a new question for discussion. As an important part of public culture service, the museum carries important responsibility of serving the society the public. In first chapter, the connotation of public culture and public service are described. The conclusion is drawn as follow: as a main department of public culture service, the museum provides the public culture product for the society directly and indirectly, enriches the inner life of public.In second chapter, the historical process is indicated that the museum developed to be public culture service department in and abroad.Based on the definition of the museum, Chapter four discussed the state and function of the museum in public culture service. The museum plays a very important part in public culture service because of its wide scope of public and its variety of roles. At the same time, the thesis analyses the museum's function of conserving the cultural and natural heritage, inheriting the culture, prompting the social education, amusing the audience and entertainment.In the end, according to the statistic of public culture service of the museum in Changchun during the three years from 2008 to 2010, the author discussed how Changchun museum serve the public. The data includes the hard facilities and the soft facilities of museum, the service in and out of museum, displaying and propaganda. Based on the successful case of the data of the museum in Changchun, the thesis tidies up the state of public culture service in local museum and poses the problem of public culture service of the museum in Changchun. The solution and strategy of the problem is indicated in the end of the thesis.
