Design Of Wireless Network In Smart Home Based On ZigBee Technology

With the progress of society and the development of wireless communication technology, the demand of living environment is not only refined to physical facilities, but people pay more attention to living quality who hope for living in a safe, modern, technologically, convenient, comfortable and energy-saved space. Thus, the new concept of "Smart home" has been created corresponding to people's requests for living environment. A concrete construction example has not appeared though the concept has an early origin. Until 1984 the world's first intelligent architecture-----"City Place Building" which was built by United Technologies Building System with the concept of Equipment information and integration puts the concept into practice, which means the beginning of Smart Home time. In recent years Smart Home Industry, which is the tendency of Household industry future, has obtained a rapid development with the development of wireless communication technology, the sensor technology and microprocessor. And the series of products have become popular among many developers and consumers.Firstly, this paper has studied the IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee protocol in great depth. Then, on the basis of the existing characteristics of smart home and development potentials, a wireless network has been designed from the point of low cost, low power consumption and rapid establishing network view, which is based on the ZigBee technology and can be applied to the smart home network.This paper introduces the components of smart home system:control system, the wireless network and gateways. According to the process of human's lifestyle and concept of the internet of things, this paper designs three system modes and twenty-one system events.The data transfer protocol in this paper firstly refers to the protocol specification formulated by ZigBee alliance which tries best to be compatible with current Smart Home products. Furthermore, the protocol also considers the future development of Smart Home and the demands of the technology. Meanwhile, it makes a description of node layout in detail according to a large number of experimental results of ZigBee network performance in the wireless network.After making analysis and comparison of the versions of the ZigBee protocol stack, this paper applies the latest version of ZigBee2007. The CC2530 module is chosen as the core chip of network nodes. In this paper the working process of different kinds of nodes also has been also designed in detail. Finally, the paper has tested all the kinds of performance indexes which validate the feasibility of this system.
