The video fusion is a kind of technology about intergrating video information from different sensors at the same time, so that it can rich visual information and enhance perceptive effect. In low-light situation, infrared image reflects the differences of infrared radiant energy which comes from targets, so the infrared image could realize "all-day" observation, but its details are not obvious. Therefore, in order to get much richer image information, infrared and visible image fusion technology has become hot spot during the fields of military, transportation. medicine and so on. Video fusion algorithm has many characteristics, such as large amount of data, high level complexity. So it is difficult to process data in real-time. In recent years, with the development of DSP, image processing system based on DSP has been used widely. What most important is the embedded technology has advantages of low power consumption, good real-time performance and so on. Both of them provide possibility for the implementation of infrared and real-time visible vedio fusion. This paper selects TMS320DM6446 which integrates ARM and DSP to implement the infrared and visible video fusion based on DaVinci. The main tasks of this paper include:1. Study video processing algorithms of ARM, implement one buffer to store odd and even video frames.2. Study algorithms of image fusion, combine with histogram equalization and median filtering algorithm in IMGLIB to implement enhancement and denoisement process. According to hardware installation characteristics, construct platform to realize adaptive correlative registration algorithm.3. Study video processing algorithms of DSP and Codec Engine, according to TMS320C64x-DSP Image/Video Processing Library, implement the fusion algorithm based on wavelet.4. Transfer the processed images from DSP to ARM, make use of synchronizing multithreads to display the real-time fusion video.
