With the increasing scale of integrated circuits, the integrated system is becoming more and more sophisticated, and the Intelecure Property based System-on-Chip design technology is becoming more and more important. How to evaluate the whole chip performance in the early stage has become one of key problems. Based on an 8-bit Microcontroller, which is compatible with MCS-51, this thesis focuses on the system modelling technology with SystemC language, and RTL modeling and verification technology. The major work is as follows.Firstly, this thesis researched the system modeling technology. Based on the primary knowledge of an 8-bit microprocessor, system-level models are constructed using SystemC, including the structure of the MAIN functions, data path and control channel of the 8-bit MCU. And the compile and simulation environment has been established.Secondly, some major modules are optimized. The decoding module is redesigned throuth different modelding techniques using verilog HDL, and the FPGA implementation results show that the 43 ALUTs have been redeuced, whish is 70.1% of the previous referecnce design.Finally, implementation and verifaction thetechnologies have been studied both in system level and register transfer level. The test bechches of system level and RTL level are established respectively, and a complete verification flow including the test plan; stimilu application and test case coverage analysis hase been carried out.
