The Research On LeeChi-Ming's Philology Achievement

Lee Chi-Ming is a scholar of Tong Guang years and his ability and learning surpass the average.lee is good at poetry, texttual research and historical aspect and so on. His major works include:yue man tang du shu ji,Bai Hua Jiang Fu Ge Shi chu ji,xing hua xiang xue zhai shi er ji,xia chuan hua yin ci,tao hua sheng jie an yue fu,an so on. Yue man tang du shu ji is from the yue man tang ri ji, which is Lee's study reading notes. It records nearly 1000 kinds of literature books and is the important material of Lee Chi-Ming's academic research. So this paper will take yue man tang du shu ji as the center for study.In this paper, the instruction part analyzes and expounded lee Chi-Ming's research status and the thesis research methods and thoughts. The first part of this paper discusses lee's life and works; recognizing systematically his personal experience and work and mainly focused on his academic works. The paper also discussed the content and value of Yue Man tang du shu ji; the second to fourth part from four aspects analyzes the achievements of his philology:first, the study of edition aspect:though analyzing the Chinese literature version of "Du Shu Ji" which summed up the characteristics of Lee Chi-Ming's study of edition. Third bibliography aspect:lee Chi-Ming considered Annotated General catalog of Si Ku Quan Shu as example to analysis and point out errors of bibliography works in "du shu ji".Third text logy aspects:Lee used "jinshi"materials for research literature; extensive reading; using check by other's method to research literature. Using imperial examination and official system knowledge to textual documents and historical aspects Fourth, literature evaluation aspect:Lee evaluated the documents basic as "reading man and discussing world". He would not be constrained by our predecessors and not habits the imperial collection of abstract.To a great extend done as seeking truth from facts.But lee's literature evaluation also exists inconsistent; the conservative and backward ideas prompted him to work evaluation not objective about western works. Because of his basing to some scholars too subjective even extreme, and these defects of evaluation showed the limitations of lee Chi-Ming's personal knowledge.
