| The radar performance is directly affected by the clutter which is the radar return signal from its work environment, such as land surface, sea and weather. The models of the radar clutter mainly are statistical models and the real scene models. The statistical models are simple and easy, while based on the digital elevation model (DEM) of the clutter model are with high fidelity and high accuracy. The hardware in-the-loop system which is made up of the radar simulator, the antenna array feed system, turntable and other components can build real radar clutter RF environment and further verify the radar clutter characteristics and performance. This paper firstly studies the characteristics of the statistical model and simulation methods of clutter, introduces the band-narrow radar and band-wide radar clutter amplitude distribution and power spectrum model of statistical models, and uses a zero memory nonlinear (ZMNL) and the spherically invariant random process (SIRP) to model and simulate the four band-narrow coherent radar clutter and band-wide radar clutter. The results from statistical models include the surface features, such as land and sea, and then convolute the radar transmitting signals to reconstruct the statistical signals. And the same time, the computer simulation results demonstrate the validity and accuracy. Then focus on the simulation of the band-wide radar clutter of the complexity of the scene based on the digital elevation model data. The paper uses the fractal theory to establish a complex three-dimensional terrain, generates the DEM database, then proceed by coordinate transformation, masking treatment and other processes. The data obtained from the scene convolute the radar transmitting signals LFM to get the scene clutter environment simulation signals. Last, the paper give a theoretical point of view from the high-resolution radar range profile angle. Finally, focus on the integration of the hardware in-the-loop simulation system of the radar clutter, which contains the compositions and the antenna-array feed system based on the core principles of the three-element-array. The paper studies the digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) module and its internal implementation algorithm, such as fast convolution and the design and reading a large number of scattering coefficient. At last, the test results of the system were given.。... |
