With the increasing development of CCD application technology, the image acquisition and processing technology is demanded increasely, especially in real-time, complex processing, major operations volume, low power, small size, portability and development costs and so on. Based on the requirements of the subject and CCD imaging principle, this paper designs the area array CCD image acquisition system.The thesis fristly had an overview of CCD image sensor work principle, classification and main characteristic parameters. On this basis, combining with factors such as cost, imaging effect, interline transfer CCD ICX098BQ launched by Sony Company was chosen as image sensor. On the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of several driving circuit, the programmable logic device was chosen to design the driver circuit. The -5.5V and +15V voltage needed by driver circuit were obtained with LT-3487. The +5V input voltage was obtained by USB. In order to facilitate computer processing and signal storage, CCD output signals were digitized. The signal processing circuit of traditional CCD imaging component was composed by separating components, the circuit designed by separating component had disadvantages of expensive cost and difficulty debugging. In order to make the CCD imaging system develop towards light weighed and miniaturized, the integrated chips called AD9842 was chosen to design A/D sampling circuit, which method simplifies the circuit design. Through the device software configuration, the functions such as A/D sampling and noise cancellation were realized, and made the design more convenient and reliable.On the basis of the hardware circuit, driving software was designed. The whole system of software design was divided into two parts: one part is the design of CCD driver timing, another part is AD9842 configuration. Firstly, the CCD driver timing program was designed based on the thinking of state machine by VHDL language. The simulation results show that each timing signal could satisfy the need of Array CCD. Then the AD9842 was configured, through three-line configuration internal registers were set.Finally, this thesis completed the PCB circuit drawing and the hardware circuit structure, input pins of each drive signal was also mearsured. The results showed that driving signal met the requirements and could finish signal implementation. Finally the results of the experiment had been debugged, and achieved clear acquisition image.
