RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a wireless non-contact automatic identification technology. It realizes the purpose of identification and data-exchange by using wireless communication technology which combines the radio frequency technology and IC technology. The RFID system contains PICC and PCD, which the PICC also is called tag and PCD is called reader. This article introduces a chip design for RFID tag operates at the frequency of 13.56MHz and accords with ISO/IEC14443 Type A standard.Paper first introduces RFID s development background and its applications, and then discusses RFID system s basic operation principle as well as its development situation. On the design of RFID interface, this paper makes its focus on all of the analog/RF front-end circuit modules which include rectifier circuit, voltage regulator, power on reset (POR) circuit, charge clamp circuit, clock generator circuit, load modulator and band-gap. Secondly, paper presents all parts of the baseband design based on the ISO/IEC14443 Type A standard, this baseband includes clock module, decode module, receive module, CRC check module, PICC state machine, EEPROM control module. This chip adopts the HKEEPLP016K0 IP which is provided by Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Co.Ltd as its storage.Analog/RF front-end circuit is simulated by Spectre with EF130 model supported by Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Co.Ltd, and the chip is also taped out using the EF130 technology. The test result shows that the analog/RF front-end circuit could work efficiently. The baseband is simulated in the Verilog-XL environment; paper brings the simulation wave of both read and write EEPROM. The function simulation and post simulation result show that the baseband works well and satisfies with ISO/IEC14443 Type A standard...
