With the rapid development of IP network,multi-media communication gain a new opportunity of development,and it is now on the way of progress. Multi-media conference receive a wide spread concern As a special application of multi-media communication. As an solution of multi-media conference,video conferencing system based on H.323 protocel have a trend of great growth in the field of network application, and have a promising future as well as a good study value.This paper first analyze the packet-based mutil-media communication protocol- ITU-T H.323 Recommendation, which inculde the construction of video conferencing system within IP network, main protocols and procedures in H.323 .After that,the paper provide the design scheme of centralized video conference system,and introduce the opehh323 protocol stack,which support H.323 protocal absolutely. Through the analysis and research of core technique of the open source code in this protocol stack, make out the source code realization of info intercommunication in the centralized video conference system.The paper finally design and realize two key skills of concentrated video conferencing system,which include chairman control mechanism and firewall traversing skill. Chairman control mechanism enable system to control the procedure of video conference remotely, and achieve the purpose of real conference. Firewall traversing skill can break through the limit of LAN,and enable system to apply in WAN.The video conferencing system provided in this paper is easy to implement and the results of exmperiment is good .Such system can be widely used in the fields such as remote monitoring,business conference,distance education and medical treatment etc, and it is of good practical value.
