IP Phone Booth Billing System Based On Huawei's NGN Solution

NGN is the abbreviation of Next Generation Network or New Generation network. With soft switch as the core technology, it adopts an open and standard system structure, providing voice, vision, data and other multimedia services. IAD, Intergrated Access Device, is located in the soft switching layer of NGN, the main function of which is to integrate the different network terminals. By this way the combination of services in the packagesswitching network could be realized. The emergence of IP phone booths has become more and more populated, since it provides low income population, such as flowing labours and students, with an economical solution for their long distance call demand.With the construction of NGN, IP phone booths have a large market protential. Taking account of this situation, we have developed a billing management system for IP phone booths to accompany with IAD terminals from Huawei Technologies. Huawei IAD (Integrated Access Device) provides 8-32 phone channels, transferring the information at phone terminals to IP packages to perform the soft switch and billing management system via RS232. With the technological advantages of NGN, the billing management system could promptly realize billing management, system maintenance and remote upgrading.
