Web-Based Scientific Research Management And Decision Support System

With the demand for society development, extraction of data from large information for decision-making has become more important than ever. Then it has been the most important problem that the users are facing and the most active research field in recent years that how to analyze and find useful imformation to business management,customer relationship and decisions. Decision support based on data warehouse and the relative technology are applied widely not only at the retail trade, the banking, telecommunication, but also obtained the quite success in other domains.Along with fast development of the higher education, the university scientific research is paid more attention. In order to develop potential to promote scientific research of the university, and enhance the teaching level to serve for the economical construction and development of the socialism, the leaders of university and all of departments need to analyze scientific research data in the multiple perspectives and multi-levels frequently. Then the scientific desicions will be based on them.At first,acorrding to fact of my university, we have completed the design of the scientific research management system. Then we have used data warehouse and OLAP technology to realized a web-based scientific research decision support system in the foundation, which can analyze the scientific research data of the university and can instruct the next step work. In the campus network,the system realizes information shared by the Web way.The university leaders, the departments and the teachers can input data , manage data and inquiry data under the different jurisdictions, and can analye and display the scientific research data in the multiple perspectives and the multi-level, thus make the scientific decision. Throught application of the half year, the system enhanced scientific research management of the university and the decision support level greatly.
