The Study Of The Books Quoted By Mo-Tse

The books quoted by Mo-Tse have the great value on the document study and thethought. We can make a comparison between the book of songs, the book of documentsquoted by Mo-Tse and the book of songs, the book of documents which remain today tospeculate on the original version. At the same time, we can enrich the thought research ofMo-Tse by studying the thought of document study in the books quoted by Mo-Tse.Althoughsome scholars in the past, like YanRuo-qu,ChenMeng-jia, LuoGen-ze,LiuQi-yu andWangChang-hua have made a lot of contribution through collecting and making analysisof the books quoted by Mo-Tse, their work has still left much to be desired on the commonsayings and the proverbs quoted by Mo-Tse.This article has an attempt to study the books quoted by Mo-Tse as a whole, so we canresearch them and the Mo-Tse's thought of document study. First of all, we use the way of thegathering of scattered writings to collect the quotations in Mo-Tse. The SunYiRang′s Mo-tseJiangu is considered as the original book. We do not only absorb the study achievements ofBiYuan, WangNianSun, ZhangChunYi, WangHuanBiao and WuYuJiang, but also refer to theunearthed relics. Secondly, we use the way of collation science to study the differencebetween the quotations in Mo-Tse which are found in the book of songs, the book ofdocuments today and the book of songs, and the book of documents which remain today.Thirdly, we research the Mo-Tse's thought of document study, which merged with the thoughtof document study in the quotations and his philosophical thoughts through microcosmic andmacroscopic way. It provides a better perspective to analyze the value of the books quoted byMo-Tse.
