Management system of engineering drawing is a basic research subject with theoretical significance and wide engineering application prospect. At present, companies have already realized CAD, and accumulated numerous electronic drawings. And many of them have applied drawing management system, but with the fast development of Internet/ Intranet, drawing management system based on C/S mode cannot satisfy the demand of Internet Era.According to the companies' demands of management of engineering drawings, with comprehensive utilization of database technology, computer network technology, image processing technology, Web application and development technology, applying J2EE frame technology, an MIS (management information system) of three-layered network frame has been achieved under the B/S mode, which has the advantage of PIM (platform independent model), and can facilitate the extension, utilization, query and browsing, with great application value and promotional value.Nowadays, Web-database Link Technology mainly includes: CGI, ISAPI, IDC, JDBC, and ASP etc. After analyzing and comparison, the author comprehensively adopts Windows Advanced Server, IIS and Tomcat in the system development, applying object-oriented development tools such as Java, JSP, Servlet, XML with the combination of database, DHTML technology. Through common Web explorer and with privilege permitted, users can implement the basic functions of management system of drawing such as browsing, query, upload, download, renewal and deleting etc. Meanwhile, the system also provides people and blog management functions. This system has the characteristics of PIM, simple distribute, easy extension, and it can be used as Corporation PDM and work independently on the corporation's Intranet.This thesis illustrates the key techniques and realizing technology on the process of system development and Tree of Assembly, database design, drawing browsing, file transfer, popedom management etc. The program succeeds in realizing the functions above-mentioned after programming, test, and frequent test in local area networks, thus further proves the correctness and practical applicability of this distribution and development technology.
