Research And Realization On The Integration Of PDM And ERP System Based On BOM

With the development in the information technology, modern manufacturing enterprises are now facing the global competition which is remaining diverse and drastic day by day, and informationizing has been the core to improve the competence of their productions in manufacturing enterprises. Product data management (PDM) and enterprise resources planning (ERP) are the primary technology support in advanced manufacturing technology. The research on the integration between PDM system and ERP system not only can reduce the generative cycle of productions effectively, but also can accelerate transforming processes of productions from the field of designing to the one of manufacturing. And as the main information of the integration between PDM system and ERP system, BOM is the important composing and the syncretic point of two great information flats, and it is the central and pivotal contents of information integration between the two systems. BOM has the important sense to eliminate the "information acnode" existing in them.The paper firstly introduces the basic theory of BOM, the relations of BOM views and definition of xBOM. Then the contents of system structure and main functions in PDM system and ERP system are described in brief. Differences and relations between the two systems are introduced, and the four integration projects are also analyzed and appraised in the paper. Thirdly, BOM in integration and data structure of EBOM/MBOM are introduced, and the correlative data structure design is accomplished by the detail analysis on Engineering BOM and Manufacturing BOM. The conversion model is also conceived from EBOM to MBOM. On the base of further research work to the item and combining the practical instance of Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Co.,LTD.., the resolving project on the information integration between the systems of PDM and ERP based on BOM is proposed in the paper. The pivotal integration processes of PDM system and ERP system is introduced in the detailed item. And not only arithmetic and flow of nominal parts, midway parts and inherit ones is analyzed, but also the correlative structure of data table is designed. At last the integration system of PDM and ERP adapted to practical application of the enterprise is exploited by the guidance of the best mode "interface integration". The data from PDM is managed by the circulation and consistency examination of the data, and then EBOM is transformed to MBOM by the system. Thus the problem of data non-coherence is resolved well which is existed in the generative progress of BOM views. And the veracity of BOMdata is ensured and the integration of PDM system and ERP system is realized effectively.The practice proves that the transformation model based on BOM can settle successfully the problem of data non-coherence. The information exchange and share of PDM and ERP is realized, and this system can be useful and worthy for the integration of application systems in enterprises.
